2020 KCAYJ FELLOWSHIPS

The 2020 KCAYJ Fellowships will be offered to individual artists selected by audition. The instrumentation for the KCAYJ Fellows Combo is selected by audition from among youth jazz artists who were in grades 9-12 at the end of the 2019-2020 school year and play one of the following instruments: (1) alto saxophone, (2) tenor saxophone, (3) trumpet, (4) trombone, (5) guitar, (6) piano, (7) bass, (8) drums, (9) vibes. Doubles: Saxophonists, let us know if you double on other woodwinds. Brass players let us know if you double too. Jazz Flutists and Jazz Clarinetists (majors) are encouraged to apply as well.

BECOMING A KCAYJ FELLOW

YOUTH JAZZ will announce the individual names and respective instruments of current fellows along with their home city or town.

Significant music educators like band directors and private instructors will also be acknowledged.

KCAYJ appreciates the fact that most of the leading jazz artists working in the field today significantly benefited from the collective efforts of the entire jazz community.

We believe it is important for balance and perspective to acknowledge the involvement of our music educator colleagues who teach and mentor KCAYJ FELLOWS.
