DESCRIPTION:Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission (KCAIC) is in the process of engaging communities throughout Kansas in the creation of a strategic plan focused on developing creative and cultural resources as an essential catalyst for innovation and community revitalization. \nTo best develop and deploy resources for public good and social impact\, a successful plan will re-imagine the place culture holds in Kansas communities; expand the role the arts play in achieving local priorities; build and support statewide infrastructure for the creative sector; and outline broad\, high-impact strategies that Kansans see as necessary for individuals and communities to thrive. \n \nThis is a community event where selected Kansas City Area Youth Jazz Fellows will provide music. Each individual artist will be paid our standard rate for musical work. In booking these types of industry opportunities musicians are selected with the best interest of the clients and the program in mind. Please note that all paid performances are accepted by the organization as part of the mission and any musician assignments are made “as is” at the sole discretion of Mr. Burnett\, the Artistic Director. \nNOTE: As a nonprofit organization Burnett Music Foundation manages financial transactions of this type transparently with the primary goal of paying the artists for their work. \n

This program is curated once a month between April and October each year by Artists Recording Collective label recording artists\, B.J. Jansen and Dr. Mike Pagan. This is an opportunity for next generation artists to perform and mentor less experienced jazz players in a community setting.
